This choral festival is a long-held dream of HMC’s Artistic and Music Director, Tom Jaber.  The Houston Masterworks Chorus is thrilled to sponsor what is developing into an annual event.

This season the invitation is to join Tom Jaber, Houston Masterworks Chorus, distinguished soloists, Choirs from Houston Community College, and the Texas Medical Center Orchestra in singing Poulenc’s Gloria, and Handel’s Halleluia chorus from Messiah.  We are fortunate to have a willing collaborator in Libi Level, Artistic Director of the Texas Medical Center Orchestra.

High school singers, who participate in the long and rigorous audition process, are eligible to participate in Houston Sings All- State!, whether or not they are selected into the All-State Choirs.  Many will not have completed the audition process at the time of this concert.

On January 17, 2017, the HSAS concert brought together the 120 voices of HMC and 40 talented, energetic, well-prepared high school All-State Choir contenders.  We performed the 2017 Texas All-State Choir repertoire for an enthusiastic and appreciative audience.
